Advice Dutch Arts Council published
On Wednesday, April 8th the “Agenda Cultuur 2017-2020 (en verder)” was presented by the Raad voor Cultuur to Dutch Minister Jet Bussemaker. The Raad voor Cultuur (the Dutch Arts Council) advices the Dutch government about the general and specific cultural policy in Holland and now advised the government to provide a structural government funding for the Metropole Orkest. The importance of an orchestra like the Metropole Orkest is recognized by the Raad voor Cultuur to facilitate a more balanced musical infrastructure in Holland.
Managing Director Marc Altink responds to the advice: “We are very pleased that the Raad voor Cultuur has pointed out the meaning of the Metropole Orkest for Dutch culture by advising the minister to create a place in the arts infrastructure for an orchestra like the Metropole Orkest. We are also pleased that the Raad voor Cultuur takes this into account in its investments agenda.”
