Winner ‘Metropole Orkest met…’ announced!

After a 6-month campaign, we can now announce the winner of ‘Metropole Orkest met…’! Symphonic metalband EPICA is the convincing winner and will record a song together with Metropole Orkest. This band got to the highest regions of the voting list very quick and never left.  

From January 31 till 12.00 PM today, music lovers worldwide could participate in the campaign by the Metropole Orkest. The initiative ‘Metropole Orkest met…’ gave the audience the chance to decide with which Dutch artist the orchestra would record a track.

At www.mo.nl/met people could vote for their favourite from the existing list (and have all their friends vote as well) or suggest their own favourite artist or group. There were no restrictions regarding style, genre or age: Everybody could nominate and be nominated. For the orchestra, this initiative is an amazing opportunity to proof that the musicians of the Metropole Orkest can play everything!

Out of all those talents, EPICA stood out and ended at the first place. In the next months, Metropole Orkest and EPICA will choose the perfect track, arrange the song for on orchestra and record the song together in the studios in Hilversum. Updates regarding the release can be found here.
