Jong Metropole December tour ft. Donny McCaslin
The American jazz saxophonist Donny McCaslin and Jong Metropole will tour together in December. McCaslin is probably best known for his acclaimed work as a bandleader on David Bowie’s album ‘Blackstar’. Inspired by the legend’s words and vision, McCaslin explores a new artistic approach in his most recent album, ‘Blow’. “Before I worked with David Bowie, this didn’t seem possible for me,” says McCaslin about his compositions. McCaslin challenges the young musicians of Jong Metropole by taking them through his risky fusion of jazz, rock and electronica and sets the tone with his improvised alternative style. Led by conductor Jochen Neuffer, Donny McCaslin and Jong Metropole come together on their tour called ‘Fast Future’.
3 December – Schouwburg Concertzaal Tilburg
4 December – LantarenVenster, Rotterdam (sold out)
‘Fast Future’ is made possible by contributions from the Keep an Eye Foundation, the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds and the Municipality of Hilversum.
