NN North Sea Jazz Downtown: José James

For one time only, North Sea Jazz is heading into town! Due to the corona measures, the NN North Sea Jazz festival has unfortunately been postponed until next year. But don’t worry, under the title NN North Sea Jazz Downtown, concerts throughout Rotterdam are organized. On Saturday 10 July Metropole Orkest, conducted by Miho Hazama, and José James will come together at the RTM Stage, the newest hall of Rotterdam Ahoy.

José James is no stranger to Metropole Orkest. This American living in Amsterdam already travelled to Bremen together with the MO Big Band. At North Sea Jazz, he will be accompanied by the entire orchestra.
José, the baritone from Minneapolis, is inspired by Herbie Hancock and John Coltrane but artists like Prince, David Bowie, A Tribe Called Quest and Mos Def as well.
Together with Metropole Orkest, José will play some of his best work.

The NN North Sea Jazz Downtown concerts are open to the public, of course according to the then applicable rules. The concerts will be simultaneously streamed for free via the North Sea Jazz website.
The full NN North Sea Jazz Downtown program, timetable and ticket sales information will be announced on a later date. The time mentioned below is therefore not definitive.
