Simon Dobson, dirigent
Jong Metropole consists of the top talent from Dutch conservatories. This winter, the orchestra will perform the spectacular show ‘Soul Revolution’ with soul singer Steffen Morrison.
The Suriname-born soul singer has been inspired for years by musical heroes like Otis Redding and James Brown. Morrison’s background is a colorful mix of influences, to which he has added his own ingredients. With his impressive presence and music, he knows how to captivate a broad audience. Together with the energy of the talented musicians of Jong Metropole and conductor/arranger Simon Dobson, the collective immerses itself in the depths of soul to touch the listener right in the heart.
Jong Metropole is a collaboration between the Nationale Jeugdorkesten Nederland (NJON), the Nationaal Jeugd Jazz Orkest (NJJO) and the Metropole Orkest (MO), consisting of the best musicians from Dutch conservatories. In this orchestra, young talented musicians from both the classical and jazz worlds come together in a unique ensemble that merges both worlds. This is made possible by the Cultuurfonds and the Keep an Eye Foundation.
