Cécile McLorin Salvant is acclaimed as one of the best jazz singers of her generation and has been placed by the New York Times alongside legendary vocalists such as Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan, and Ella Fitzgerald. Her music, sung in both English and French, gives a contemporary meaning to jazz, soul, and blues, and continues to capture many hearts.
For her albums “The Window,” “Dreams and Daggers,” and “For One To Love,” Salvant won three consecutive Grammy Awards for Best Jazz Vocal Album, and in 2014 her album “WomanChild” was nominated for the same prize. In 2020, she received both the MacArthur Fellowship and the Doris Duke Artist Award. “Ghost Song,” her first album with Nonesuch Records, was released in March 2022 and received critical acclaim and two Grammy nominations.
Together with the rich sound of the Metropole Orkest and her enchanting vocals, Salvant will be touring to Groningen, Utrecht, Amsterdam and Eindhoven at the beginning of 2025. The shows are conducted by Darcy James Argue.
