In October, Ntjam Rosie, Metropole Orkest and Jules Buckley will take you on a musical journey across the African continent. During five concerts, the trio will honor the most beautiful African voices and shine a spotlight on iconic female artists.
During these concerts, the groundbreaking singers Miriam Makeba, Angélique Kidjo, Césaria Évora, and Oumou Sangaré will be musically celebrated. However, this tribute goes beyond the greats we all know. Discover the impressive story of Abeti from Congo, a forgotten star with an international career, and Kahdja Nin from Burundi, who, despite her success, decided to leave the music industry. Admire the inspiring sounds of Sona Jobarteh from Gambia, not only a talented singer but also a dedicated philanthropist. Remember Sara Tavares, the Portuguese star with Cape Verdean roots, and celebrate the legacy of the duo Les Nubians, who paved the way for new generations.
This musical journey ultimately brings us to the present day with rising stars Libianca, Yseult, Tems, and Ayra Starr. Each one of these exceptional women continues and enriches the legacy of their predecessors.
