Richard Bona & Metropole Orkest
Conducted by Vince Mendoza

Richard Bona and the Metropole Orkest are back! Conducted by Vince Mendoza, the charismatic bassist and the orchestra will perform a seamless blend of musical worlds and styles in February 2025.
Like the Metropole Orkest, Richard Bona is known for his love of mixing jazz with his musical roots and influences from world and pop music. Bona began in Cameroon as a multi-instrumentalist, inspired by the music of Jaco Pastorius to specialize as a bassist. Throughout his career, he has continually expanded his musical universe by collaborating with artists such as Joe Zawinul, Salif Keita, George Benson, Chaka Khan, Pat Metheny, Quincy Jones and Alfredo Rodriguez.
The orchestra and the bassist are no strangers to each other. The Metropole Orkest invited Bona as a soloist for its International Arrangers Workshop in 2013, where they found common ground in the vision of music as a universal language. After sharing the stage again during the Quincy Jones Prom in 2016 and the tour through the Netherlands in 2023, they have now found the perfect moment to once again work on creating a rich blend of musical styles.
With the Metropole Orkest, Richard Bona brings orchestral versions of his best work and newly composed music.
