On January 17, 2026, Ledisi and the Metropole Orkest, conducted by Jules Buckley, will pay tribute to Nina Simone. The trio previously performed at the BBC Proms and in the Concertgebouw and will now share the stage in Lugano, Switzerland.
Led by chief conductor Jules Buckley and together with Ledisi, the orchestra will bring a contemporary interpretation of Simone’s life and legacy. Iconic songs such as Little Blue Girl, Plain Gold Ring, My Baby Just Cares For Me and Feelin’ Good will be revived by Jules and his team with new arrangements.
“Nina Simone’s musical journey remains highly relevant,” says Jules Buckley. “Her deep social engagement has been a constant source of inspiration and clearly resonates in her work. Bringing her legacy to the present with the Metropole Orchestra, and with an artist like Ledisi, is a true honor.”
